Does Scheduled Refresh happen when On Premises Data Gateway installed on a laptop is offline?

I have installed (in my laptop) On Premises Data Gateway () for initiating scheduled refresh from data sources in One Drive.

1. Will the refresh be happening if my laptop is offline?
2. A server is required for the continous refresh?

@Anonymous  if its on premises gateway , which means on your hardware, and is installed on your laptop, and your laptop is off, how will it update?  

as far as i know, if you pointing to one drive you do not need to set up an on prem because its in the cloud and does not need an on prem gateway set up.  It should update automatically and you can probably select once you have published a schedule.
