Hi all, it seems like Gen2 capacities are getting closer to release...but I still don't see any settings within them that allow memory to be dedicated for the enhanced compute engine. Has anyone seen anything indicating when that may come?
Most of our larger / more important work includes dataflows using the enhanced compute engine to allow fast merges between data from different sources. Hoping to be able to test in Gen2 capacities but can't until they support dataflows.
Thanks!
Scott

Hi @Anonymous ,
Yes, in the recent update, Gen2 capacities support dataflows with enhanced compute engine. According to the prompt of the official website document, its function can be turned on in the Power BI service.
You can refer to the blog and official website documents I provided below, I hope to help you.
The enhanced compute engine is now enabled by default | Microsoft Power BI Blog | Microsoft Power BI

Hi Henry - those photos you referenced are not available for Gen2 - those only show up on Gen1 capacities. On Gen2 there are no options available to either turn on dataflows support, or to allocate memory to it or the enhanced compute engine. I'd include a screenshot but unfortunately we're fully allocated so don't have any spare capacity to dedicate to a Gen2 test capacity.
Unless I'm missing something - please tell me if so.
Thanks,
Scott
