Distributing reports in PowerBI Service (PowerBI Pro) - unknown error message

Hi

I am trying to distribute my reports which I created in PowerBI desktop through PowerBI service. Myself, I have a PowerBI Pro license. The other user has a Power BI Pro test license. For myself, the cloud version works finely, but for the other person there is the following error message, whenever she tries to access the reports in the cloud setting:

Aktivitäts-ID: 262d436b-e615-44ba-8e4f-c8bef498ebfc

Anforderungs-ID: ...

Korrelations-ID: ...

Zeit: Fri Dec 17 2021 08:29:54 GMT+0100 (Mitteleuropäische Normalzeit)

Dienstversion: 13.0.17333.39

Clientversion: 2112.2.09063-train

Cluster-URI: https://wabi-west-europe-d-primary-redirect.analysis.windows.net/

I removed the "Anforderungs-ID" and the "Korrelations-ID" in order to avoid security issues. I do have these strings as well. Let me also know whether it is safe to post these two strings, as well.
How do I fix this problem?

Thanks for your help.

I have found the cause. I defined roles, and the person to whom I wanted to share the report was not included. The error message seemed too cryptic, so I thought that there was a deeper problem.

Hi @centroid

Please provide more details for further investigation, thank you.

  • Which type of workspace are these reports located in? (new? classic?)
  • What is the way you share reports to another user?
  • What connection mode are the reports under? (Import? DQ? LC?)

Best Regards,

I believe it is a new workspace. The connection mode is "Import". And I offer "read" access.

Please post the actual error message.  The activity record is only interesting for the MS support team if you submit a Pro ticket to them.
