Hello,
I have a simple report (two small tables) set up to test DirectQuery on the service. The report functions almost flawlessly, with immediate visual refresh times, as I navigate the directquery report on Power BI Desktop. However, when I publish the report to the Service after setting up an on-prem data gateway, reaction is sluggish (6-7 seconds per click). Is this common, or might this have to do with network performance? What other factors might be at play? How do I troubleshoot the cause?
THank you in advance

Hi @Anonymous ,
DirectQuery – no data is imported or copied into Power BI Desktop. When creating or interacting with a visualization, the underlying source must be queried and the time necessary to refresh the visualization is dependent on the performance of the underlying data source. When the data necessary to service the request has recently been requested, Power BI Desktop uses recent data to reduce the time required to display the visualization. For more details, please check the online document.
