Direct query not sending queries to SQL Server

There seem to be inconsistencies in the refreshing of my report in Power BI. The whole report is using direct query.

Here's what I did to test:

1. Viewed the report in Power BI Service and navigiated from page to page to view the data (at this stage there was plenty of data).

2. Truncated all tables in the database and returned to the report in Power BI Service.

3. Navigated from page to page, while running SQL Server Profiler to view the queries being output by Power BI.

At step 3, as I navigated from page to page, most of the time, queries were output and the data was refreshed, however, his was not the case with some pages. Why would some pages refresh and others not? Can anyone explain what the conditions are for an action (navigation) based refresh?

in that case you are at the mercy of the settings for the shared capacity. I would assume that you'd have to retry after a while in the hopes that the cache has gone stale.

I should have mentioned that I can force it to refresh by pressing the refresh button or by changing filter values. The problem is that this one page doesn't refresh (like all of the others) upon navigating to the page.

Make sure query caching is off for your dataset.
