Deploy SSAS Tabular model to Power BI Premium capacity

Hi All,

Need a help, as I want to know whether there's a possibility to deploy a SSAS tabular model directly into Power BI premium capacity. Please do let us know if there's a possibility and if yes, the steps/process to do. Thanks

Hi there

It is aimed for later this year.

Unfortunately you cannot take the XML and run it directly on Power BI Premium, you would need to rebuild it in Power BI.

You could use the Tabular Editor to re-create the measures.

You could then copy across the M tables from the expressions in SSAS Tabular into the Power BI Query Editor.

Hi there

Currently there you would need to convert your SSAS Tabular model to a PBIX and then upload that to Power BI Premium.

I do think that once the Power BI Premium XMLA with read and write becomes available you will then be able to deploy to Power BI Premium.

Thanks for the reply @GilbertQ . But how Power BI Premium XMLA will be made available?

If I take the XML of SSAS tabular model, how can I deploy it in Power Bi Premium?
