Hi Guys, I have a report that is set up on a scheduled refresh. Today, the refresh failed due to an authentication issue which resulted in a load of blanks on the report. We fixed the issue and refreshed the dataset but the blanks wouldn't go away. I republished the report but the balnks persisted and in the end I had to delete the dataset and republish the report. All was fine with the report and the blanks are gone but I have a couple of issues with this:
1. After deleting the report, the report usage history is gone
2. Users' bookmarks have dissappeared.
I have a few questions:
1. Is it possible to restore the usage history?
2. Can users' bookmarks be restored? They rely heavily on bookmarks and it would be a real pain if we can't restore them.
3. If this happens again, can I try anything else to fix the blanks without having to delete and republish the report?
Hi @JimJim ,
For Power BI consumers, I don't think we can restore the deleted dataset by ourselves. I also suggest that you create a support ticket to get the specific response from Microsoft team. Maybe they can help you resolve it on the back end.
@JimJim - That's strange behavior. Were you using Publish to Web or an App?
I doubt there is a way to restore that information but you can check the Issues forum here:
https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Issues/idb-p/Issues
And if it is not there, then you could post it.
If you have Pro account you could try to open a support ticket. If you have a Pro account it is free. Go to https://support.powerbi.com. Scroll down and click "CREATE SUPPORT TICKET".
