Deleted Embed Code still viewable online

Hi there,

I had to create a presentation to showcase a PowerBi report to management in an effort to get a PowerBi Pro license. i created a workspace and had the report in there.  I obtained a license, however after deleting the embed code the report is still viewable online?

I don't have any other embed codes to delete from my list and it is empty. I deleted everything (dataset, reports etc) for the link to be deleted however i can still view it online.

I have tried accessing the code form disfferent browsers and different computers but the embed code is still active online.

Can anyone assist please.

Thanks

Thanks

Hi @lord_kaiser,

If I understand your scenario correctly that you have deleted the embed code under Manage embed codes but you still could see the report on the web by the link?

If it is, I cannot reproduce your issue. Could you show a screenshoot about your Manage embed codes like below.

Hi Cherry,

Thank you for your response.

Please see screenshot below. I can confirm that the website is still showing and hasn't been deleted.

Hi @lord_kaiser,

By my tests, I cannot reproduce your issue.

Maybe there is something mistake. Please check if you have deleted the other embed coed so that the link could still work.

If you have Admin account, you could have a check in the Embed Code under Admin Portal.

If you do not have Admin account, you could check the embed code for each app workspace.

Hi There,

Thank you for your response.

I have been testing powerBi for the past few days to try and replicate the issue and this is how i was able to replicate the issue:

1.Create a workspace and added a powerbi report to that workspace.

2.Created an embed code to view online

3.Delete the workspace completely including the report and associated, datasets

4.Removed/Deleted the embed code from managed embed code list

5.Report is still viewable despite the fact that the embed code is deleted

Why isn't the embed code deleted?  If the dataset & report has been deleted along with the workspace, the embed code should not be able to load the report.

Thanks

Hi @lord_kaiser,

I have made tests with your steps and I found something.

Firstly, by my test, when I only delete the app workspace without deleting the report and dataset in it. I do could reproduce your issue.

However, I have a little confused that if you have deleted the app workspace, how can you delete the embed code. Actually, each app workspace has their own Manage embed code list. If you delete the app workspace, you should not find the Manage embed code list of that app workspace.

Besides, I found if I only deleted the report in the app workspace without deleting the embed code, I cannot view the report online.

I suggest you could delete the embed code first, then check if you could view the report in the web?

In addition, you also could delete the report first, then check if you could view the report in the web?

Best Regards,

Cherry
