Dataset refreshes but Report and Paginated report don't

Hello,

I have a dataset connected to a Data Gateway that refreshes every day at 3.30PM. The dataset serves a report and two Paginated reports, as follows:

Lately, the users of the reports have detected discrepancies in the information, and it looks like they are due to the fact that the Paginated reports and the Report are not refreshing for days at a time.

I haven't received any failure notifications from the gateway, and the refresh histopry indicates that dataset is refreshing as it's supposed to:

However, I had to manually refresh the report in Power BI desktop and replace the dataset manually to get updfated results for the report.

Also, in the List view from the Power BI Service, I don't see the refreshes for the paginated reports (I suppose I should see them here?):

Any idea how to fix this?

Thanks!

Hi @Alienvolm

THe reason for now refresh for paginated reports is because it only runs and displays data when it is run. There is no caching that is stored for paginated reports.

I would look at the underlying dataset to make sure that it is being refreshed and then your paginated report is being run?

Hi @GilbertQ,

Sorry for the late answer... In the end it was an error in the flow that generates the report. It seems to be working fine now!

Thanks!

Hi @Alienvolm

Can you please make sure that you click on the Reset to Default once the datasets have updated?

Also once the dataset has updated, what happens if you create a new report off the dataset can you see the updated data?

Hi @GilbertQ

When I refresh the report manually the Reset to Default button is always greyed out:

Also, I have created a new report for testing and the refresh date shows when I last manually refreshed the dataset:

As you can see, the two paginated reports don't show any date. Is that normal?

After the gateway refreshes at 3.30PM this is what I see:

Moreover, I have noticed that the paginated report timestamp in the reports that were not refreshed were at an unusual time: we refresh the reports at 3.30PM every day, but the timestamp shows that the report ran at 4AM in the morning, when there are no scheduled refreshed and no one could have requested a report.

For example, the report that was generated after the refresh today is not the latest version I published 😐 and the timestamp is this:

Thanks again for your help!
