I am trying to manually refresh my dataset, but it is not working and not giving any errors. I see the "Preparing to refresh" notification for an instant, then it goes away and the dataset has not refreshed. No error message displayed.
Any help on this?

Hi, @tjshaf13
What’s your data connection mode (import, direct query or live connect)?
If you use direct query or live connect, manual refresh only refreshes the tiles on the dashboard.
Therefore, I suggest you to go to your dataset setting to check the refresh history. If it displays “Refresh failed”, please show me more information about your connection mode and error info.

The "Preparing to refresh" message popup and after few seconds it's gone, and there's no 'new' refreshes in the refresh history. tried to push to dataset from Power BI desktop again but couldn't, it's stuck in pushing for more than 30 mins. tried to stop the on premises gateway service for 5 mins and still didn't fix the problem.
You might need to troubleshoot your data source and see what is happening there?
