Dataset Icons in Power BI Service

Hi,

I see two different types of icons on the dataset tab in power bi service. does anyone know what is the difference?

Hi @Anonymous 

 

The first one is the dataset which wasn't created by yours, it should be in the content pack which you got from the organization, and you can't share it with others. But the second one is the dataset published on your own, you are the creator. and you can share it with others if you want.

Thanks for the reply.

I am an admin of the workspace. I thought I would be able to set the permission for all the datasets  loaded under the workspace where I am listed as admin. 

@Anonymous Can't say off hand, but I would imagine it's either a dataset that is using direct query/live connection or is a shared dataset.
