Dataflows Refresh Failed

I have created a dataflow within a premium workspace where I have added two entities from the same SQL Server Database. Within Power Query I have did a merge between the tables, which saves and closes without any error issues. However, when I then go to refresh the dataflow, I get a refresh failed message that reads "On-Prem execution not supported for entity..[data reference]..since it referes to another entity." I am using an on-prem getway and with other dataflows in the same workspace that don't have any merging I haven't had any refresh issues, but am with this one. My understanding is that you can merge entitites within a dataflow, so I am struggling to understand what the issue might be and can't find anything specific when doing my own research. Any insight into why this might be happening would be appreciated.

Hi, @arickard

According to my research on the problem you have encountered, the solution is to untick the Enable load option on the linked entity. Then the linked entity will not load, but only the merged entity.

You can refer to these cases which have the same issue as yours:

Adding to an old thread for extra information.

If you have dependant queries (let's say B references A) on a Gen1 dataflow and need both to load, an easy way to do it is add an extra query like Temp A and have both B and A reference that, with the Enable Load turned off for Temp A.
