Data is not coming in PowerBI Service

Hi All

I am facing issue in PowerBI service. Actually, I have AZURE SQL Database for backend and using "Direct Query" to show data in PowerBI Report.

While creating report, I selected "AZURE SQL Database", however, when I publish the report on Power BI Server, I am getting error that "There is not gateway to access the data source". Also, when I am trying to setup a gateway for AZURE SQL SERVER, I am getting errror that "Unable to connect: We encountered an error while trying to connect to . Details: "We could not register this data source for any gateway instances within this cluster. Please find more details below about specific errors for each gateway instance."

Hi @Anonymous ,

It seems Power BI Service is not able to connect to it. Did you check a firewall rules for Azure SQL DB? Do they allow to connect from Power BI Service?

Thanks @zoloturu for quick response.

At desktop version, I am able to connect Databse, however, when publishing a dashboard on PowerBi Service, there I am facing this issue. So, please suggest, should I recheck the firewall setting with Admin?

Yes, because your personal/organization IP is different from IP of Power BI Service. Please read both articles.
