Data Types from the Service

Anyone have experience with Power BI publisher/Excel and connecting to datasets in the service?

We have some datasets using Import mode. We've set the data types like date, $, etc in the dataset. Once we connect to the service through publisher the dates look right, but Excel shows as "General". We can't sort Oldest to Newest or change the type.

Thoughts?
