Dear team,
I am not able to take over one of our datasets in workspace that I manage.
This is currently preventing us from setting up scheduled refresh.
Problem seems to be related to the fact that person who was originally owner of that report left organization so his M365 account dissapeared.
Is there any chance to takeover this data set to be able to set scheduled refresh.
I also would like to avoid republishing of data set under new name which would mean lost of all permissions and access rights including links.
Thank you in advance
BR
Pavel

Hi @JorisVoorn ,
The user who created the dataset and configured the scheduled refresh for the dataset no longer exists. To successfully run the report and schedule the refresh, you need to take over the settings.
You can find the workspace in the admin portal, add yourself as the admin of this workspace, and become the owner of this workspace so that you can use this dataset.
1. Admin portal – Workspaces, find the workspace and select Recover.
2. Enter the email, you can add it as admin.

You could use the PowerShell script below to take over the dataset in the Power BI Service.
This will allow you to keep everything as is, but change the Owner.

The full admin portal can be accessed by global admins and users who have the Power BI service administrator role.
You can find an account with this role and permission in the company to enter the complete management portal for operation.

If you are Admin of the workspace, you should be able to take over dataset
If still facing issue, check with your Power BI Admin yo do it for you then you can take over from them.
