I have a multi page report with few visualizations, all using direct query. The data set is set to referesh every 15 mintes.
Few week ago I created a dashboard and pinned some of the visualizations from the multi-page report. For a while, the dashboard tiles were refereshing autmatically. Last week our gateway server was rebooted, when it came back up I checked multi-page report and the dashboard and found that the dashboard tiles no longer auto refresh, while the report vuisualizations are refreshing as usual.
I tried the following:
1. Un-pin and re-pin the visulization. ( that works for the first refresh only, then it never refreshes)
2. Deelete old Dashboard and then create a new dashboard and pin visulizations again. (this works for the first refersh and then it stops again)
Any idea what is broken here?
Hi @Saifi ,
Have you check you dataset settings and gateway refresh history to confirm if they are works?
In addition, you can also use fiddler to trace refresh operations to confirm background requests.

Yes, and it seems that all is good there. I can see the visualizations in the report refresh properly, there is no issues with data refresh on the report side. the problems is with the dashboard tiles not getting the refreshed even when I refresh the whole web page.. as if the tiles have a present values which keeps bringing the same results.
What should i be looking for in fiddler?
Another question: Where the dashboard gets its data? i mean is it dependant on the visualizations data? or does it do that independently
HI @Saifi ,
>>What should i be looking for in fiddler?
You can trace httprequests when you click on 'refresh' button to see if these request has been blocked or succeed.

Dashboard will get last data from power bi dataset.(import mode and directquery mode with scheduled cache refresh) For live mode, It will try to get data from datasource when you interaction with visual data.
