case:
PBI dashboard is shared with group cn=X
In AD on premise and AAD this group X is renamed to Y (business requirement).
Expected behaviour, sharing access displays group Y.
But: sharing access in dashboard still displays group X.
Tried workaround: remove sharing.
Shared with Y.
Expected behaviour, sharing access displays group Y.
But: Sharing access in dashboard still displays group X.
Request:
how can we get rid of group X in PowerBI sharing information?
Hi @detlev,
The group X and Y are the one group and the names are differen? Or they are two totally different group?
>>sharing access in dashboard still displays group X.
You said Acess highlighted in yellow background always shows the old X?
Could you please share more details for further analysis?

Angelia
Hi Angelia,
thanks for taking time to look at this issue.
yes indeed, group X and Y is one and the same group. Theire SID/ GUID is the same. The cn, description, etc is changed). By business requirement this group has been renamed in AD (by FIM on prem) and synced to AAD (with AD connect).
All O365 'modules' are displaying new name. But PowerBI (where this group was used to share a dashboard with before) is still displaying the old name.
As far as I could test it seems that this is only occuring with 'used in PowerBI'groups. Other groups which are renamed but never used in PowerBI before are displaying the correct new name.
Hope this is the info you asked for.
kind regards,
Detlev
Hi @detlev,
Before sharing your dashboed, did you refresh it? Please refresh it first, then share, and check if it works fine.

Angelia
Hi Angelia, thanks for taking the time to respond. Yet unfortunately your workaround did not work.
It seems somewhere deep down in the dark vaults of powerbi.com the old name of our group is cached or stored.
very odd.
