Dashboard and published report not showing latest data

My published report and Dashboard are not showing the latest data after refresh. I was using imported data from Excel on PBI desktop.

May I know if I have to publish the report and pin the visual to dashboard again everyime after I updated the datasource?

And may I know if the change of data type is available on powerbi Service?

Thanks!!

Hi, @lchmoo_

You don't need to republish the report and pin the visual to dashboard everytime if you just  updated  some data  in the datasource. You only need to refresh you dataset by selecting Refresh Now in the dataset menu here . Tile refresh happens automatically following a data refresh .

Data type is not available on powerbi Service.  You need to modify it in desktop and then republish the report to service.

Please check  these steps:

1.Insatll gateway and configure gateway connection ->please refer to this document

2. Configure Data source credentials -> please refer to this thread

3. Configure Scheduled refresh ->please refer to  this document

4. refresh dataset and check the refresh history  -> please refer to this document

Hi there

You will need to install and configure the On-Premise data gateway in order to refresh the datasets automatically.
