DM_GWPipeline_Gateway_ProviderDataAccessArgumentError

Hi ,

When viewing Direct Query Report , I get the following error:

Underlying ErrorPowerBI service client received error HTTP response. HttpStatus: 400. PowerBIErrorCode: DM_GWPipeline_Gateway_ProviderDataAccessArgumentError
Underlying error messageUnable to find the requested .Net Framework Data Provider. It may not be installed.

@Anonymous - We ended up opening support ticket with Microsoft . Here are steps recommended to resolve the issue in gateway machine:

1) Reinstall ODAC driver 64 bit.(not Xcopy)

2)During installation you have to select the following:

   @GilbertQ  Reports with import mode are working. Only Direct query reports have iaaue

@GilbertQ  Thanks for responding. The machine on which gateway is running is 64 bit. I see both Framework and Framework64 folders in the machine . The registry seems to be pointing to Framework folder. I think this is 32  bit version of the .net framework but not entirely sure.This is how full registry looks like

Should this be pointing to Framework64? IF so how can we fix this?

Hi @savitaa can you confirm it is the 64bit version of the Dot Net Framework?
