DM_GWPipeline_Gateway_GatewayOutOfDiskSpaceError

Does anyone have any insight to why I may getting this error? We do an auto refresh of a PBI dashboard through a gateway hosted on a virtual machine. The data comes from a PostgreSQL database hosted on Azure.

Data source error: {"error":{"code":"DM_GWPipeline_Gateway_GatewayOutOfDiskSpaceError","pbi.error":{"code":"DM_GWPipeline_Gateway_GatewayOutOfDiskSpaceError","parameters":{},"details":[{"code":"DM_ErrorDetailNameCode_UnderlyingErrorMessage","detail":{"type":1,"value":"There is not enough space on the disk.\r\n"}},{"code":"DM_ErrorDetailNameCode_UnderlyingHResult","detail":{"type":1,"value":"-2147024784"}}],"exceptionCulprit":1}}} Table: x.

Hi @jamestieu

As per the error your Gateway Server has run out of disk space.

If you could get someone to free up some disk space?

Hi, @jamestieu

According to your error message, I think the refresh failed because the virtual machine that runs the gateway has run out of disk space. It’s because of the spooling process in the gateway workflow. Here’s the introduction to the spooling, you can take a look:

Queries like Power BI refreshes and Azure Analysis Services refreshes can return large amounts of data. For such queries, data is temporarily stored on the gateway machine. This data storage continues until all data is received from the data source. The data is then sent back to the cloud service. This process is called spooling. We recommend you use a solid-state drive (SSD) as the spooling storage.

More info about On-premises data gateway architecture

Therefore,I suggest you to try to expand the disk space in your virtual machine to avoid this data refresh problem. Please refer to this document:
