Could not connect to the data source Error: Paginated Reports Via a Security AD Group

Hello All,

I have a paginated report which is built in Power BI Report Builder and it uses a Power BI dataset  Published in a Premium workspace (Both the dataset and the paginated report in the same workspace).

I published the report as an app and I can use it without any problems. I added some individual email ids to the app and even they can access it without any issues. But when I add an email enabled security AD group to the app , the people in the AD group are not able to access the report and are getting the below error:

Could not connect to the data source.

There was an error communicating with Analysis Services. Please verify that the data source is available and your credentials are correct. The connection either timed out or was lost.

I have the allow users to connect to the underlying dataset using build permission option also enabled.

I think the issue is that the Power BI Service cannot enumerate the AD Group back down to the AAS Instance.

I would think you would need to add the users manually?
