Hi,
I've just a simple question: I need to talk to someone from Microsoft about the use of Premium license. I tried many times to contact support (from here: https://info.microsoft.com/pbi-calculator-contactme.html and also in other ways) but nobody answered me.
Have you received support from Microsoft in the past? Can you suggest me something to do? Maybe other ways to contact them?
Thank you very much
Nick
If you have Pro account you could try to open a support ticket. If you have a Pro account it is free. Go to https://support.powerbi.com. Scroll down and click "CREATE SUPPORT TICKET".
Thanks @Greg_Deckler
I have a Power BI Pro trial license, expiring within 2 weeks, so it's a borderline case (I have got it but I don't). If I try to do what you indicate, it results I have not a Pro account.
Maybe I'm going to have it soon, but it depends also on the answer I need to receive from Microsoft support.
Thank you
Nick
@Anonymous- Perhaps we can answer your question here?
@Greg_Deckler my business needs to know how we can exploit PBI Premium. Our aim is to perform data analysis for many companies.
1. Buying a Premium license allows us to have a Report Server for every company we want to work for? Or are we limited to have just one Report Server, and so to part companies we must create different folders to insert reports for every single company? I mean, how can we manage Premium capacity? We'd like to have multiple Report Servers but I don't know if it's possible with a Premium license. Then I don't even know if there's something more suitable than this.
2. What's the difference between putting the service on Azure and on a virtual machine? Is there any difference for the aim at point 1?
Thank you very very much!
Nick
You do not want support, you need to talk to a licensing specialist. I would use this link to ask your question:
https://info.microsoft.com/CO-PowerBI-ContactMe-Register.html
I do not understand your 2nd question. If you put your report in the Power BI Service, then that is not using Report Server. If you put your Report Server on an Azure VM or an on-premises VM, there's really no difference to that other than the relative costs involved of running the Report Server and the fact that you can spin up a Report Server in Azure in minutes because there is an image for it. Not sure if that answers your question.
Finally, I'm not certain that the licensing rights would allow you to do what you are attempting to do if I understand what you are looking to do. Power BI Embedded may be a better fit.
Thanks @Greg_Deckler and sorry because maybe sometimes I am not explaining very well.
With the 2nd question I want to say if Azure has a specific service to contain PBI Service, without needing a VM. Maybe I've not so clear mind about this topic.
I tried about 10 times to contact licensing specialists through the link you indicate, but I never got answers. Nobody contacted me. That's why I don't know how to move anymore.
