Connecting to Azure Analysis Services via Power BI pro

I am new to PowerBI and I wanted to know if we can connect to Azure Analysis Services via Power BI pro (power bi app/web portal)

The supported data source types that we can connect to from Power BI service has been listed in this document. While connecting to Azure Analysis Services from Power BI service is not available now.

Hi there

Yes you can, you can possibly open up Power BI Desktop, click on Get Data and then select Azure Analysis Services.

Put in your Azure Analysis Services Address.
It will then prompt you to log in.
Once logged in you can then select the database you want to use.
And once that has been completed you can then create your reports.
Once the reports are created you can upload it to the Power BI Service.

I am on App.powerbi.com and want to get data by connecting to Azure tabular cube. Can you please tell me if it is possible if yes then how? i have power bi pro

The tabular cube was already deployed to azure using power bi desktop. Please guide.

I am trying to create a report on app.powerbi.com (not powerbi desktop). How can i get data or connect to Azure Analysis Services to get the data from tabular cube which is on Azure. Please help.

Hi there

You will have to connect to your Azure Analysis Services with Power BI desktop and then upload this to the Power BI Service.

Unfortunately you cannot connect from app.powerbi.com
