Connect to Shared mailbox o365 (cloud)

Hi Everybody,

We are trying to connect to a sharedmailbox that used to work with Power BI connector exchance.
Sinds some time now we can't acces the sharedmail box via Power BI.

What happend:
1. Upgrade from Exchange 2010 naar Exchange 2016. But i don't this is the issue
2. Shared mailbox migrated to cloud (2020-09-08_17h13_17.png )

Errors:
1.'Mailbox does not exist'
2. De versie van Exchange Server wordt niet ondersteund. Alleen Exchange Server 2007 SP1 of hoger wordt ondersteund.
Details.

I can connect to my own email, that hust works fine, its'just the shared mailbox.

Any tips will do.

Kind Regards,
Prashand

Insted of using the connector i use the Power M fucntion instead. I don't know why, but it works 😁.
I would think the api's are not the same.
I used:

Exchange.Contents (optional mailboxAddress as nullable text) as table

Cheers!

I tried this solution by using direct query and this api thing really helped me a lot! Most important thing is the data retrieval speed, which is at least 80% faster compared to using Microsoft Exchange Online Connector. Also I've seen the MS Exchange Online connector may not support scheduled refresh in reports, which could be a limitation. Reference: List of supported data sources

I'm going to keep with this solution and see its performance goes over time.

Many thanks,

Hi @Samurize24,

What version of power bi desktop are you test? Have you tried to use other tools to connect to exchange at the current device? In addition, I'd like to suggest you to check the port and policy if any settings blocked the requests.

Please explain more about these to help us clarify your scenario:

Hi there

Could you make sure that the permissions are set correctly when logging into the Shared Mailbox?

Can you log into the shared mailbox with your credentials?

Are you then using the same credentials in your connection in Power BI?

Are you then using the same credentials in your connection in Power BI?
