Composite Model - Will users always need Build Permissions to access Composite Model Reports?

Hello, 

I have been using the new Composite Model feature for a few months now and it's been very helpful. 

However, one of the major limitations I've run into is not being able to share these reports with users unless they have build permissions on all of the data sources included in the report, found here in the Power BI Blog. 

In a corporate environment, , my colleagues and I use a live connection to a data warehouse that holds private information, not meant for all employees to have access to. 

Furthermore, this feature/limitation seems to contradict the methodology behind publishing a report in an App, which should allow all users with access to the App have access to all reports and information housed within that App. 

I'm wondering if this will be a permanent limitation? Or, will this be removed when Composite Models are no longer a Preview Feature?

We are also experiencing this. We have a large, company-wide dataset published to the Service. We were super-excited when we heard about being able to create a report with a "live connection" to the dataset, and joining more data sources to it ("composite model").

But our analysts started doing this, and publishing their reports to our apps in Premium Capacity. But then, end users of the apps cannot view the reports! Because the end users don't have "build" permission on the Power BI Dataset. (And we could not give them "build" permission -- that would conflict with our security requirements.)

I agree, it feels like this limitation is not "in the spirit" of how Premium should work. Right? We should be able to publish a report to an app in Premium Capacity; and all our users should be able to view the report, without needing "build" permission on the dataset. I hope this limitation will be removed. Because while it is in place, the amazing new "composite model with Power BI Datasets" feature is not so amazing 😓 ... we can't use it for much of anything, so long as the reports cannot be shared with end users.

Since it is a preview features,  Until it's officially released, we don't know if this limitation will be implemented.
