Columns removed from table

Hi,

Is there any way to find a list of reports which uses a column which I want to remove from database?

Thanks!

hi @PBInewbie21 - There is no automated way available to do this but if you should explore using external tools which are available and approved by Microsoft

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/transform-model/desktop-external-tools

These tools allow for analyzing the data model and looking at DAX and understanding the dependency on specific columns within your data model - you can refer to 16:30 in the below video

Hope that helps!

Thanks Sumanth for your reply.

Problem here is we don't know which reports are using this column. I wish there was a way from Admin side to find out which report is pulling data from perticular table!

hi @PBInewbie21 - yes, unfortunately there is no straightforward way to idenitfy that. You can identify the datasource details by using the Lineage view to identify all reports that are accessing a particular datasource - that may be a starting point to identify the reports which may be potentially referecing the particular column in question
