Clicking on link in PPT exported from Power BI Services does not redirect to the report page

Hi All,

Today I came across a very weird kind of issue with respect to 'Export to PPT' option.

The report is exported to PPT from the Power BI Services. I opened the PPT and hovered over the PPT slides, we get a tooltip as CTRL+Click to follow link.

When I do so, the link opens up in my browser and redirects me to the Power BI login page. I provide my login details expecting the report page to open up, but instead it lands me to the Home Page of app.powerbi.com.

Now the twist is, if I copy the link from the PPT and paste it in the browser it perfectly opens the report with the same page as seen in the PPT.

I tried opening up the report in both Chrome and Edge but unfortunately it does not work as expected.

Is this some kind of a bug, or am I making some mistake while opening the report from PPT?
Request you to kindly assist me with the same.

Thanks.

Ani

Hi @v-jayw-msft ,

Is there any update on this?

Thanks,

Ani

Hi @Ani26,

This now works for IE (Version 1909) & Edge (Version 91.0.864.67).

Doesn't work for Chrome nor Firefox according to my tests.

If this doesn't suit your needs, you can always resort to DevScope's Power BI Tiles or Upslide.

Please do note these are third-party tools & require admin approval for you to use.

Kr,

Lou.
