Hi all,
I am new to being a PBI Admin and I am looking into the upgrade to Gen-2 - I have read the documentation, watched some you tube vids and researched on here.
My question is:
I have 6 classic workspaces, but I can not see any information on what is in them, who is the workspace admin/creators, like I can with other workspaces in tenant. I have tried to upgrade them and I get the pending status and then nothing else, I have read up on the Block schedule upgrade of empty workspaces - which is enabled.
So am I to assume that as nothing happens that they have content, or am I missing something?
Any help on this would be great.
Thanks

Hi, if you have followed the same steps in the following doc
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/collaborate-share/service-upgrade-workspaces
And still can't upgrade, you don't worry. The next link will show you that Microsoft is planning a migration of all classic workspaces to the new experience in April 27th.
That will change it automatically.
I hope that helps,
Happy to help!

Hi @ibarrau,
Thank you for the reply, yes I checked and followed these documents, after I got the email from the Microsoft 365 Message Centre, I followed the instructions to jump ahead of the 27th deadline.
I also looked at this Forum post as I want the workspaces removing if they are empty.
I will just wait for the automatic clean up and go from there. Thanks for posting up a reply.
In case you don't want to wait:
Since it's a V1 workspace, they were probably created along with an O365 (security) group (+ SharePoint site + Teams team + ...). So you could go and search in AAD for the same name as the workspace. Then get yourself owner & member access to that group and then you should be able to access the workspace. 😀
@nickyvv I will go investigate, I don't have admin access for that but I know who does. Thanks for the heads up 🙂
