Changes to Data Source/Reports after Uninstall & Reinstall Gateway for New Recovery Key

The recovery key for our on-premise data gateway is long gone.  From reading other threads, we need to uninstall & reinstall the gateway to set a new recovery key.  We've got a lot of Data Sources set up in the service under Manage Gateway/Gateway Clusters/<Cluster Name>. 

Will the data sources need to be updated or recreated? 

Will anything need to be updated in the report data sets?

Yes, you need to uninstall & reinstall the gateway to set a new recovery key when you lost the Recovery key for the Data Gateway. And all of the data source you added before will gone, you need to recreate the data source in your new Data Gateway.

Please note : The recovery key will be needed if you ever need to migrate, restore or take over a gateway. Be sure to keep this key in a safe place.

Thanks @v-piga-msft.  What would happen if I were to uninstall the gateway, go to Manage gateways in the service, remove the existing cluster, then reinstall and set up the same cluster name?  Would every report data set's gateway connection section need to be updated?

Sorry for the delay.

If you remvoe the Gateway, the all data source you added before will disappear, you need to add the data source in your new on-premise Gateway.
