Hi everyone,
A relative newby to Power BI and my first post on the forum so hoping someone can assist.
We connect to Dynamics via Dataflows then model reports on the app to publish. We are rebuilding Dynamics in a Sandbox and want to start the reports ready for the live launch. However, when Dynamics goes live from the Sandbox it will have a different URL. Am I able to change the datasource of the Dataflow without having to remodel? Credentials are organisational.
Many thanks
Solved! Go to Solution.
Yes. Go to the table/query where you are connected and select the ADVANCED EDITOR in the menu. The URL will be there. Replace it.
If you are unsure, the best thing to do is create a new connection to the new data source, then copy that code from the Advanced Editor to Notepad. Then open the Advanced Editor of your existing table, and make sure the Source and possibly the next line or two match what is in Notepad. Sometimes there are additional parameters or navigation steps beyond just the URL.
Click save, and tell it to refresh.
DAX is for Analysis. Power Query is for Data Modeling

MCSA: BI ReportingHi @edhans, apologies for the late reply, Thanks for the quick response. Managed to resolve by changing the source url in the dataflow tables in Service. Seems to be working great! Many thanks for your help.
