Change dataset of a report

Hi guys,

I published several reports from Desktop (connected to an excel file) to My Workspace, but now each one has its own dataset.

To avoid refreshing one by one when I update the data, can I change the dataset of these reports to one dataset only?

Hi there

You can use the Power BI REST API to rebind your dataset to another one

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/power-bi/reports/rebindreportingroup

Another option is to go into your PBIX.
Then go into Transform Data, Edit Queries
Delete ALL the tables (Dont worry it will be fixed)
Then click Close and Apply.
Your report now will look like it is broken.
From within Power BI Desktop click on Get Data
Select Power BI Service
Then select the shared dataset which you need.
Now your report should be working again.
Upload it to your required App Workspace.
