Hi
I'm trying to get the Data Gateway (personal mode to work) and have resorted to using the TripPin example (chapter 10 version) but it's still throwing the following error
Unable to determine the data source due to unknown functions. When custom connectors are used, the error can happen if gateway doesn't have the extension enabled. Details: Static analysis failed in gateway. gatewayObjectId:0f937e4f-be1f-4487-bdee-78807ba13155, resultCode:FailedWithUnknownFunctions Query contains unknown function name: TripPin.Contents Unknown function name: TripPin.Contents is a valid Mashup library function name format. Hence fail the operation. .
Refresh works locally, I've tested the network connection 90/90 passed, the connector show in data gateway.
Any help at this point appreciated
2. Make sure that the TripPin custom connector is also installed and enabled in the Data Gateway. You can check this by going to the "Data sources" tab in the Data Gateway, selecting the data source, and checking if the TripPin custom connector is listed and enabled.
3. Try updating the Data Gateway to the latest version and restarting it. If none of the steps work, you can maybe try creating a new report and using a different custom connector to test connect to your data source.
Let me know if you might need further assistance.
Hi
I can get custom connectors working locally, actually the one I need to get working is one I wrote myself for GA4 (you can find it here). I'm adding in gateway support but can't get any custom connector working across the gateway. The TripPin connector was my last resort to test something that should definetly work from the GitHub.
I have the latest version of the Gateway Pesonal mode and I can see the connector under the Connectors tab.
Hello @GavinBrogan,
1. Check if the TripPin custom connector is installed in your Power BI Desktop by going to the "Options and Settings" menu, selecting "Options," and then "Security" and "Data Extensions." Make sure the TripPin custom connector is listed and enabled. If the TripPin custom connector is not installed, you can download it from the Power BI Custom Connectors GitHub repository and install it manually.
