Can we create custom 'Refresh dataset' button in Report page in PBI Service

i have a report with dataset from web api datasource.  Currently I can schedule refresh for dataset for every 30 min. but I want to see live data or have a 'custom dataset refresh' button on the report page itself. so the users can click and refresh dataset. Right now i have to manually refresh dataset and then refresh the report. There are two steps involved. Is there any better way of getting live data better refresh options?

Also, in schedule refresh, to refresh every 30 min, i need to 'add time' for every 30 min intervals. It would have better if there is an option to select 'Every 30 min' instead of  'add time'

Hi there

What you could do, is use Microsoft Flow to automatically refresh the dataset for you on a schedule.

Along with that you could then also create a Power App which links to the Microsoft Flow. You could then embed the Power App into your Power BI report, where you could click the button to refresh the data.

Here is a blog post on how to get this done with Microsoft Flow: https://medium.com/@Konstantinos_Ioannou/refresh-powerbi-dataset-with-microsoft-flow-73836c727c33

i was able to refresh dataset manually thru microsoft flow...but how can i schedule it for automatic refresh?

And also,i tried creating powerapp button and emebed that in my report, its working but the lok n feel of that button is not looking good on my report. How can I format it?  When i open report, the powerapp visual is loading the icon first and then it shows the button. Is there any way to disable the icon to not show?

Hi, How you did that? Can you please explain the steps!

Hi there,

I am not a Power Apps specialist but there is a way to remove the icon, you might have to Google on how to fix that issue.
