I am suddenly unable to publish to the power bi service from Power BI Desktop. I am updating an existing pbix file and simply publishing as I always have. Without any changes I now get a warning message when I attempt to publish:
I have never configured a gateway. We have always used windows auth to connect to our data source. No user permissions have changed and no settings have changed. How and why am I suddenly unable to publish? I have an immediate need to push something out. What can I do to resolve this asap and prevent it from ever happening again?
Solved! Go to Solution.
I'm wondering if that is simply a slight change to the product where it is basically telling you that it won't be able to automatically refresh your data. Looks like it actually published, it's just a warning.

Looks like it did actually publish. It appears that the data is indeed refreshing as well (I'm using Direct Query and refreshing every 5 minutes). Seems like a very poor place to put a warning message especially when we are not using a gateway in the first place.
Any idea how to supress this warning? Otherwise I'll just ignore it.
