I'm a consultant/contractor and I work for many different organizations around the world.
Recently I noticed I had problem logging in for a certain org. I didn't really needed to at the time so I didn't think of it because I could still log in to other organizations.
However, a client I work for a lot, is now also not letting me log in via Power BI Desktop. I can log in fine using browser but not Power BI Desktop.
What happens is this
I go in sign in top right corner and this pops up after I write the user email I'm provided with
I click it and instead of getting to the password section, this comes
Now it doesn't matter what I do. If I click next the fram just pops up again. If I select Sign-in options I'm tunneled to the organization and then back to this login window.
If I click "Can't access your account" I go through steps to verify myself - which I did but my account becomes temporary locked only for me to find out later when it's open again that this will all just go back to the same login loop.
I've also tried logging in on their VPN and try again with same result.
Remind you that I have absolutely no problem with logging in to their environment in a browser - this is just a problem when using Power BI Desktop

Also found a workaround.
Enable this:
I use MS Edge browser with multiple profiles.
The profile that is open will be used so when I login via PBI Desktop that browser will also open and seemlessly let me in.
I honestly think this is a bug but the whole login process via PBI desktop is somewhat a drag IMO

I had the same problem and it seems a lot of people are experiencing the same issue.
However I found this thread

And someone found a workaround that worked for me:
1: In desktop, Sign in
2: In the pop-up window, choose the account you signed in with. Then click next
3: in the same pop-up window, now click on "Can't access your account?"
4: In the next pop-up window, click on cancel
5: now, click on "use another account", add the mailaddress. and voila!
