Can't Schedule Refresh for data source of JSON

You can't schedule refresh for this dataset because the following data sources currently don't support refresh:

• Data source for JSON2

We are connecting to data via json and need to schedule refresh so we have live data or close to live if we can refresh every 30 minutes that would be great.  I am able to do it with live connection and direct query to a database, but not with a json connection.

Is there a way besides REST APIs to refresh via JSON?

Does the personal gateway do this for you?

If not what I have done in the past is to convert the files from JSON files to CSV files and then configure it that way.
