Can not setup scheduled refresh to .xlsx files in blob storage

I have a bunch of xlsx files in blobstorage.

I read the whole directory and process the files 1 by 1.

This all works fine with Power BI Desktop, but in the service I get following error when I refresh:

Something went wrong
There was an error when processing the data in the dataset.
Please try again later or contact support. If you contact support, please provide these details.
Message: Excel Workbook: The 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine. OK, so renaming the files to .xlsx was not enough (the original files where .xls)

I actually need to open them and save them as .xlsx
