Can I embed a Power BI dashboard with an Office365 free PowerBI account?

I have an Office365 account which allows me to log in to https://app.powerbi.com. Just for personal practice purposes, I am trying to embed a Power BI dashboard in a VS .Net application following the tutorials in here http://radacad.com/integrate-power-bi-into-your-application-part-3-embed-content.

But when I run the app, I get the error message about a "Group ID": "

GroupId is empty. Please select a group you own and fill its Id in web.config

I googled the error, and I have read that I need a Power BI Pro account in order to be able to embed the dashboard. I wanted to ask if there is any other way to embed with just my Office365 free Power BI account?

Thank you

Hi @truecolor

Firstly you would need to have a Power BI Pro account being the developer and uploading the report.

Also with regards to the error, this is because the best practise is to create an App Workspace, and upload your report into this App Workspace. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-create-distribute-apps#create-an-app-workspace

Once you have created the above, as well as having the Power BI Pro license you will then be able to get the GroupID and then look to embed your report.
