Calculating a sum for each day

Dear all,

I am newibie in power bi. 

I am using Azure IoT hub for tracking measures from my IoT devices. Than I am streaming all this data into PowerBi Service. So i have different datasets. In one dataset, I am collecting duration of switches. 

Based on tha dataset, I would like to get overview for each particular day, what was the sum of duration. For each day, there are many switches. 

It will be easier to understand to look at attched screen. So for example instead of many different records for each day, I would like to get sum of all records for one day. How to achieve that?

Hi @demokedes ,

You can send data from stream analystics to Data Lake, and then use Power BI Desktop to connect to Data Lake to calculate a sum for each day.

Extracting the date field from the time is helpful for your calculation.

It's been a little bit since I worked with streaming datasets. Is it a stream coming into Power BI, as in it comes in real time to a dashboard tile? If that is the case, as I recall you have very limited options in Power BI and you generally go through Azure Streaming Analytics to do any kind of aggregation/calculations.
