Calculated measure from two tables/ sources

Hi All,

Firstly is it possible to restirct/ filter a measure by two different dimensions?

For Example i have a measure "amount" which is a column full of values either revenue or costs. Can i then filter/ rectrict the measure to give me the summation for sales ie.

select amount

where flag = sales

Also then display next to it

select amount

where flag = costs

This just means my underlying table can be made up from cusotmer invoices and supplier invoices?

If this is not possible can you calculate a measure such as "profit" based on measures from two odifferent tables?

Ie.

Profit =

Sales_amt(from sales table) - Cost_amt(from costs table).

Your help/ advice is appreciated.

Thanks,

Bal.
