Bug in date format using Copy Value in Power BI Service and paste it in Notepad or Excel.

If I right click on a cell such as the Create Date in browser using report in Power BI Service, I use the Copy>Copy Value option.

But if I paste the value into Notepad  instead of getting 06/09/2011 I get:

"Thu Jan 06 2011 00:00:00 GMT+0000 (Greenwich Mean Time)".

Please fix this bug as our users are actively using this feature and expect to get what is displayed in the cell.

I'm not 100% sure that is a bug vs design issue. The underlying data is what you are getting, not merely the format of it. One workaround is to get data via Analyze in Excel.

But if you think it is a bug, you should report in the Issues forum where MS PM's are actively engaged and will look at. They don't often participate in the user help side. Issues - Microsoft Power BI Community
