Best approach for working with historical and current data in power bi service

Hi,

We have some data about projects being pulled into a data warehouse and marked with a date for when the data was pulled.  We've marked records with the latest data with current_flag = 1.  Writing reports has been OK, but now moving it to the service and interacting with Q&A, dashboarding and thinking about some less advanced users working with this data, it might be confusing.  What is the typical approach for doing this?  Separate tables?  Would you then need to prefix fields with current or historical or is it obvious what category of data it is?

Thanks!

Hi there

What I would do, is if you wanted users to use the historical data, I would create a slicer in which it would identify Current_Flag = 1 to be "Historical" otherwise "Current"

Then when using this slicer the user will be able to easily switch between historical or current data?
