Azure Analysis Services Model - Allow Export to Excel, but not Analyze in Excel

Hi,

I have a customer that use an Azure Analysis Services model as a dataset for their reports and they wish to allow Export to Excel for all users, but only selected users should be allowed to use Analyze in Excel.

Which tenent setting should be set to allow this? It seem like I can't control the 2 features seperately?

Hi @sdjensen ,

Try to put the users in a security group and enable the below feature:

I can try that, but Azure Analysis Services is not an on-premise dataset?

I have currently set these to setting, but this will only allow Export to Excel for the users in the security group:

Hi @sdjensen

Thus, there's no other ways to try, there're many ways to restrict the permission for users to export data, but as for analyze in Excel, there's only one way...

You may propose your idea and add your comments there to make this feature coming sooner. https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas
