I am using excel and sql for my power bi report. I Added all local path to the gateway for the individual EXCEL FILES i.e company name, employee, etc. That change or i am adding content/data once a week and FOLDER NAME where i download a daily dump of excel files for sales numbers. All excel and folder are stored in a local shared machine. NOTICED when i scheduled automatic refresh, only the sql query gets updated in my online power bi report and other data sources from excel or contebt from folder didnt get updated. Only way is to run it in my pbi desktop and republish it again... kinda stuck .. need help.. thanks in advance

Hi there

What you would need to do, is to have a UNC File share (EG:\\myservername\sharename) to where the files are stored.

Make sure that your Gateway server can access this UNC File Share.

Configure your Power BI Desktop to also connect via the same UNC.

Once the above is done, you should then be able to configure the Data Gateway with this new data source.

Then finally go into the dataset properties and set the Gateway to use the Gateway Server and it should then refresh.
