Dear Power BI community,
In the Power BI refresh type documentation it states dashboard created with an import storage mode have automatic tile refresh.
"A tile is a report visual pinned to a dashboard, and dashboard tile refreshes happen about every hour so that the tiles show recent results."
Our dashboard does however not update when the data is refreshed, which happens by a scheduled refresh every night.
How could we get our dashboard to refresh automatically, thus without manually reloading the page?
Our dashboard is shown on a large screen in our office, we would like to see the dashboard with fresh data every morning.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Kind regards,
Mark
The page has to reload. there is no heartbeat thread between Power BI's service and your browser to trigger a refresh. There are third party tools that will automatically refresh for you, one is Easy Auto Refresh - Microsoft Edge Addons - not that I have NOT tested this nor endorsing it. Have your IT team approve before installing any addons to your browser.
DAX is for Analysis. Power Query is for Data Modeling

Thanks for your reply.
The Power BI documentation states:
"tile refreshes happen about every hour so that the tiles show recent results."
The storage mode we use is Import, specifically an Azure Blob Storage. This supports automatic and on-demand tile refresh as stated in the Power BI refresh types documentation.
It should thus be possible to have tiles refresh automatically, but the questions remains how this could be accomplished.
The final goal is to have our visuals refresh just as prices are updated on stock websites. The website is not fully refreshed, but the data sources for the visuals are refreshed.
Kind regards,
Mark
Hi @Anonymous ,
You may have some misunderstandings about tile refresh. In this articel you mentioned above, there's a note about tile refresh.
For import mode, the basis of all data refresh is re-importing the data from the original data sources into the dataset, this step can be achieved through scheduled or on-demand data refresh, tile refresh can't directly import data.
So you should set schedule refresh first then the tile will refresh after each schedule refresh on the dataset.
Additionally, to keep the data up to date, you can add more time slots to refresh a dataset by clicking the Add another time, you can configure up to eight daily time slots if your dataset is on shared capacity, or 48 time slots on Power BI Premium.
