Hi,
I have an report that connects to our staging sql server. I use this to develop the report.
To publish the report o app.powerbi.com, I have to open the report in the PowerBI Deskop Client, change the data connections to the production sql server, and then publish the report.
I have to do this
There's any way to change the data connections and publish the report without having to use the PowerBI Deskop Client?
Thanks in advance.

Hi @Anonymous ,
In your scenario, we can only change the data source via PowerBI Desktop manually, we can't edit it in PowerBI Service directly.
As a workaround, we can use the PowerBI Service parameter to change the connection string next time, please refer to this blog: https://www.fourmoo.com/2018/03/27/using-the-power-bi-service-parameters-to-change-connection-strings-to-possibly-change-between-dev-test-prod/, but this time, you can only change it via Desktop.

Teige
