hi all,
We have created a web portal and embedded the Power BI report in the html for external user to use.
Everytime when a new external user sign in, he/she is required to key in the username and password credentials. Is there any way to ensure that no prompt for username or password credentials is shown but still going through a proper authentication at backend?
Regards,
Christine Goh
Hi @Anonymous ,
If you hope the report go through a proper authentication,it do need to key in the username and password credentials for others to open the report, otherwise, how does the authentication work? But if you can accept to make the report "public",I would recommend "publish to web",in some sense, it's just like a proper authentication,as the users need to get the URL link, then he can open the link, but he can also give the link to others ,which I'm not sure whether or not you wanna aviod?
Here is the reference.
Hi @v-kelly-msft,
Sorry that i didn't make my line clearly.
What we intend to do is, we control the autentication through web portal, and the power bi reports are embedded as part of the service in the web portal.
So we just want to avoid the step to sign-in again when they click on the link to view the power bi reports.
We can't make our reports as public. it contains confidential information.
Hope it clarify. Thanks!

Christine Goh
Hi @Anonymous ,
I guess API would help, here is the reference.
But it needs a premium capacity and is a bit complex.
