Hi,
Is there a way to connect a Sharepoint excel sheet from Power BI dashboard? For example, I can just click on someplace on the dashboard that will take me to an excel sheet on Sharepoint?
Thank you
Solved! Go to Solution.
You can create a Text Box with a Link. You'll find this option in the "Home" tab of the ribbon and under the 'Insert' section is Text box. When you place text into the text box you also have an option that looks like this which allows you to set up the URL.
So you can write a nice message in the box like "Click here to open the related spreadsheet" then set a direct link to the spreadsheet in question.
Alternatively, should you wish to have something more dynamic, you can set up a field in your tables with the Data Category of "Web URL" and if it is placed in a table/matrix, it becomes clickable. I use this where there may need to be a dynamic nature to the URL, whether its passing parameters, or if your field names had something like "staff names" to denote them.
Some supplementary material to Ross73312's idea:
Add image, text, video, and more to your dashboard
Text boxes and shapes in Power BI reports
Add a hyperlink to a text box in a report
a hyperlink in a table or matrix
Best Regards
Maggie
