Apps - Ability to pin custom visual to a dashboard

Using the new Apps feature (replacement for content packs), I am unable to determine how I can pin a custom visual (i.e. apply some filters and pin the resulting visual to a personal dashboard) from a report to a dashboard in my workspace. 

Previously, I was required to make a copy the content pack in order to personalize the reports. This does not appear to be an option with the new apps functionality as the Apps show up as read-only.  Am I missing a security permission somewhere or is this feature not yet available?

@Gruffalo Currently Apps are read only.
