Hello
I have a created a report using PowerBI Desktop that merges data from 2 data sources (our Salesforce.com data and Application Insights data via an M Query). The windows credentials for each data source are different. Refreshing the data works successfully using PowerBI Desktop.
The report has been published to PowerBI Service. I want to schedule a daily refresh of the data and have tried to configure the Application Insights data to refresh by adding an entry into our Enterprise Gateway Cluster and this is where I hit a problem because it will not connect. The error message is copied below.
Any ideas on how to resolve this?
Thanks in advance
Matt

Hi @my76 were you able to find a solution? As a workaround, maybe you can try to test your connection with a 3rd party connector. I've tried windsor.ai, supermetrics and funnel.io. I stayed with windsor because it is much cheaper so just to let you know other options. In case you wonder, to make the connection first search for the Salesforce connector in the data sources list:
After that, just grant access to your Salesforce account using your credentials, then on preview and destination page you will see a preview of your Salesforce fields:
There just select the fields you need. It is also compatible with custom fields and custom objects, so you'll be able to export them through windsor. Finally, just select PBI as your data destination and finally just copy and paste the url on PBI --> Get Data --> Web --> Paste the url.
Hi @my76 ,
Could you have used any parameters for you data in query editor like bleow code?
let A= (path as text) =>
If so, you may not use refresh in service currently, below is an idea of the problem, you could have a view:

Hi Daniel @v-danhe-msft
I read the two posts you shared but they have not helped. The problem occurs when the test connection is made in the gateway and I get the previously reported error.
I ran a test with only the application insights data source in a report and was successful in scheduling a refresh using Oauth in PowerBI service (DataSets > Settings > Data Source Credentials). But when I try to add my credentials to the Gateway cluster I do not see an Oauth option. Could this be the problem?
Thanks
Matt
@v-danhe-msft I really need to get this working ASAP. Please can you assist or help me raise a support ticket.
Thank you
Matt
